Context & The Challenge

My first professional client project. A single-page marketing website built to support the launch of a mobile application. This project taught me how to work directly with clients, translate requirements into design decisions, and ship something usable.

An early-stage mobile product needed an engaging, modern landing page to validate market interest, build an early email waitlist, and convey product value to prospective users prior to app store release.

System Architecture & Approach

Designed and built a high-conversion single-page website from scratch, structuring punchy hero copy, interactive app feature previews, and a clean email waitlist capture form with zero external bloat.

Key Architectural Decisions

Microscopic Bundle Weight

Hand-coded lightweight CSS layouts to maintain a microscopic total page weight (<200KB), ensuring instantaneous loading on cellular connections.

Zero-Dependency Form Handling

Implemented clean vanilla JavaScript validation avoiding bulky third-party libraries for simple email waitlist collection.

Deliverables & Results

  • —Interactive Device Mockups: Visual CSS mockups showing app screen walkthroughs and key benefits.
  • —Waitlist Capture: Instant client-side input validation and frictionless email signup flow.
  • —Mobile-First Responsiveness: Flawless reading experience on smartphones where 80% of landing traffic originated.
  • —Fast Asset Hygiene: Lightweight SVGs and compressed imagery for immediate first-paint rendering.

Successfully collected the target pre-launch waitlist quota and established foundational client trust that sparked ongoing client referrals.

Engineering Reflection

“My very first client project solidified the principle that simple, well-executed software built directly around user needs always triumphs over unnecessary technical complexity.”
