Mnasa
Elevating the digital showcase for contemporary art and creative curation.
Context & The Challenge
Improved and extended an existing web application by adding new modules and refining the UI and UX. The focus was on clarity, motion, and building interfaces that feel intuitive and modern.
The existing web application felt rigid and lacked visual rhythm. Art collectors and visitors were met with slow load times and uninspired transitions that failed to match the premium caliber of the curated artwork.
System Architecture & Approach
Refactored the application architecture to use Next.js, implementing smooth micro-interactions with Framer Motion, optimizing image delivery via responsive WebP pipelines, and structuring modular components for effortless gallery curation.
GPU-Accelerated Transitions
Utilized Framer Motion layout animations with GPU acceleration to maintain a consistent 60 FPS across all mobile viewports.
Hierarchical MongoDB Indexing
MongoDB schema restructuring for fast hierarchical queries across artists, exhibitions, and artwork metadata.
Deliverables & Results
- —Fluid Motion System: Choreographed page transitions and scroll-driven parallax reveals.
- —Optimized Image Pipeline: Automated image compression and progressive blur-up placeholders for high-res art files.
- —Dynamic Exhibition Modules: Self-contained sections for featured artists, upcoming collections, and private previews.
- —Curator CMS Integration: Streamlined administrative publishing flow for adding new art pieces and exhibition metadata.
Achieved sub-second page transitions, a 95+ Google Lighthouse performance score, and received overwhelmingly positive praise from art collectors for interactive smoothness.
“Visual luxury comes from restraint; animations must guide user attention toward the art rather than compete with it.”
